WidgetCraft's Quotes widget ships with 30 hand-selected quotes from figures like Einstein, Churchill, and the Dalai Lama, serves one deterministic daily quote by default, and embeds in Notion, Obsidian, or any iframe-capable website.
WidgetCraft's Quotes widget surfaces a single curated quote at a time from a library of 30 hand-picked entries spanning motivational, philosophical, and literary traditions — authors include Mark Twain, Eleanor Roosevelt, Socrates, Nelson Mandela, and Albert Einstein, among others. The default behavior is a stable daily quote: the same quote appears all day and changes at midnight, determined by a date-based index so all viewers on the same day see the same quote. If you set a refresh interval in the builder, the widget instead picks a random quote from the library each time the interval fires. Three display styles are available: Card (quote in a card with a large open-quote mark), Minimal (inline italic text on a single line), and Large (full-bleed centered layout for hero placement). All three styles are fully customizable via the standard WidgetCraft styling panel. Because the quote library is bundled with the widget, it works offline after the first load and requires no external API calls.

Where do the quotes come from?
The widget ships with a hand-curated library of 30 quotes from well-known figures across history, philosophy, and business — including Einstein, Churchill, Roosevelt, Mandela, and Thoreau. There is no live API feed; the library is bundled with the widget.
Can I pick a specific genre or filter by author?
Not in the current version. The library is a curated mixed set. Genre filtering and custom quote lists are features being considered for a future release.
How often do the quotes refresh?
By default, the widget shows the same quote all day and changes at midnight (daily rotation). If you set a refresh interval in the builder, it picks a new random quote each time the interval fires.
Can I add my own quotes?
Not through the builder yet. Custom quote libraries are a planned feature. For now the widget displays quotes from the bundled 30-entry collection.
What are the different display styles?
Card (default) places the quote in a bordered card with a large open-quote mark. Minimal renders it as a single italic inline line — good for narrow embeds. Large presents the quote full-bleed and centered, ideal for a hero section or a splash screen.
How do I change the display style?
Add `?style=minimal` or `?style=large` to the embed URL. The builder also provides a style picker. The default without any parameter is the Card style.
Does the quotes widget work offline?
Yes. The quote library is bundled with the widget code, so after the first load it works without an internet connection.
